Fortnite เตรียมกลับมาอีกครั้งใน iOS
Epic Games เผยว่าเกม Fortnite จะกลับมาให้ดาวน์โหลดอีกครั้งทั้ง iOS, iPadOS ใน iOS 17.4 ปี 2024 นี้ โดยจะเปิดให้ดาวน์โหลดใน App Store แยกของ EU ทำให้ผู้ใช้ iOS ไม่จำเป็นต้องดาวน์โหลดเล่น ผ่าน Cloud Gaming อีกต่อไป

Apple ประกาศว่าใน iOS 17.4 จะมี App Store แยกสำหรับ EU, โดย Apple จะคิดค่าธรรมเนียมนักพัฒนา 0.50 ยูโร ต่อแอปต่อปี ที่มีการดาวน์โหลดนอก App Store แต่จะไม่คิดค่าธรรมเนียมการซื้อภายในแอป ซึ่ง CEO ของ Epic Games ก็ยังแซะประเด็นนี้อยู่
อย่างไรก็ตามถึงแม้ Fornite จะกลับมาเล่นบน iOS ได้ แต่ก็ทำได้เพียงในกลุ่มประเทศ EU เท่านั้น ซึ่งทาง Epic Games ก็จะยังเรียกร้อง และโต้แย้งเรื่องนี้ต่อไป
Apple แบนเกม Fortnite และ Epic Games ไปเนื่องจากละเมิดนโยบาย App Store ที่เพิ่มช่องทางการชำระเงินนอก App Store แต่สุดท้าย Apple ก็ต้องปรับนโยบายให้นักพัฒนาโปรโมทช่องทางชำระเงิน App Store ในสหรัฐ ได้อยู่ดี
