รายงานจากเว็บ Netmarketshare ได้รายงานส่วนแบ่งทางการตลาดของแต่ละแพลตฟอร์มว่าตอนนี้ iOS ซึ่งเป็นระบบปฏิบัติการสำหรับอุปกรณ์เคลื่อนที่จาก Apple ได้รับความนิยมเป็นอย่างมาก จากกราฟจะเห็นได้ว่ามีอัตราการเพิ่มขึ้นของกราฟเรื่อยๆ เดิมทีอันดับสามนั้นเป็นของระบบปฏิบัติการ Linux ซึ่งเป็น OS ที่ฟรีและสามารถใช้งานได้โดยไม่ต้องเสียค่าใช้จ่าย แต่ตอนนี้โดน iOS แซงซะแล้ว
จากกราฟด้านบน iOS และ Android มีการเจริฐเติบโตของกราฟที่เพิ่มขึ้นเรื่อยๆ สวนทางกลับทาง Linux ที่ส่วนแบ่งทางการตลาดลดลงเรื่อยๆ ส่วนใหญ่แล้ว Linux จะถูกใช้เยอะในวงการของเครื่อง server มากกว่าจึงไม่เป็นที่นิยมสำหรับผู้ใช้ทั่วไปมากเท่าไหร่
