จากข่าวเดิมเมื่อเดือนตุลาฯ 53 ที่ได้รายงานไว้ VLC Media Player อาจถูกถอดออกจาก App Store ตอนนี้ข่าวนั้นก็เป็นจริงดั่งที่คาดเพราะว่า VLC ถูกถอดออกจาก App Store เป็นที่เรียบร้อยแล้วครับ แต่ไม่ต้องเสียใจไปนะครับเพราะแอปฯนี้ไปโผล่ที่ Cydia เป็นที่เรียยร้อยแล้ว คุณสามารถดาวน์โหลดมาใช้งานได้อย่างฟรีๆเช่นเคย
สาเหตุที่ Apple ต้องถอด VLC Media Player ออกจาก App Store นั้นสาเหตุหลักๆก็มาจากการขัดกันของสิทธิบัตรมันเกิดการทับซ้อนไม่ลงรอยกันระหว่าง App Store กับ GNU License
แต่ไม่เป็นไรครับตอนนี้สามารถดาวน์โหลดได้ที่ Cydia แล้วโดยเข้า Cydia แล้วค้นหา VLC Media Player คุณก็สามารถติดตั้งและใช้งานได้เช่นเดิม
